What’s unconditional worthiness and why do you want to feel it?
Do you feel unconditionally worthy?
What does self-worth (or worthiness) even mean and why do we need it?
When you have a sense of self-worth, this means that you recognize your own value and worth.
Thing with self-worth is that we often think we have to somehow acquire it through validation by others.
As children, we learn that we are “more worthy” when we behave like our parent, teachers or friends expect us to. Because we are rewarded with appreciation when we do: in the form of words, hugs or things, or all of the above.
Self-worth is often also related to bringing home top grades, being an A student.
Another worthiness squasher is to be rejected when we ask for something. Like, we could ask a classmate to accompany us to a special event, and they say no. – We must not be worthy of their company! Or we ask our parents for a toy, and they say no. We must not be worthy to receive it.
These examples clearly show us how easily we are programmed to confuse self-worth with the recognition our behavior earns… or not. Our worthiness seems to depend on our validation by others, and not by ourselves.
So many of my clients struggle with this. And I sure have struggled with it, too.
As a little girl, I always felt pressure to be “the best.” And it wasn’t even my parents who instilled this in me. Honestly, it took me a long time to figure it out, and it’s complicated…
But whatever your “not worthy” story is, it’s time to drop it and to write a new story.
It’s time to recognize that you are worthy… just because!!!
And there are many reasons to substantiate this statement.
Just look at all your brilliant talents and skills you bring to the world! Maybe you also have a big heart. I’m sure there’s a lot you can come up with.
And you came to share your precious gifts with the world.
Now, if there’s not tremendous worth right there!?!
See, your worthiness does not depend on others. You don’t have to prove anything to become worthy.
Your self-worth is a given.
Once you acknowledge this, your self-esteem increases and you are less distracted from bringing out more of your incredible potential, showing us your most precious gems.
Re-write your worthiness story today and dare to share more of your value with us. Someone needs it.
