Time for a time-out? – Why you must take time to recalibrate and replenish
You may not even have noticed (or maybe you have), but I didn’t publish an article here last week.
Why?
Well, I took some time off to rest. Not the entire week but a large portion of it.
It wasn’t a full-fledged vacation. I still had a few meetings, recorded a podcast interview (always fun), and supported my coaching clients during their sessions.
Because I know that we all need to recalibrate and replenish from time to time – each of us in their own way. The way I rest and recover may not be the same as you rest and recover, and it may even vary from moment to moment.
Last week, for me this meant focusing on my vibrational frequency: The quality of the energetic vibration I want to cultivate.
Being geographically far from any exciting (to me) dance classes or events, I came up with a list of other activities that recharge my batteries: watching the sunrise on the beach, riding my bike, dancing in online ndombolo classes, contemplating the lush vegetation around me, appreciating Nature’s beauty, listening to quantum shows, reading an inspirational book, journaling, enjoying sunsets in the park, spending time with a friend, distributing smiles (and receiving some back)…
Little things that can become big. Big in the sense of the effect they can have on us when we do them consciously, when we allow ourselves to be fully present in the moment.
If you want to be and continue your best at work, in your job or business, you sometimes will need to put yourself first.
We can only give what we have.
That includes our energy.
Not just a certain quantity of energy, but most importantly, high energy quality.
Our energetic vibration attracts the people and opportunities that are aligned with it, that are a match to it. Sometimes, that’s not the huge masses. It may be a selected group of people. That’s fine.
You may, of course, already have a team and no need to attract the right people into it right now.
Then think about the example you want to set for your team: One that’s stressed and depleted, or one that’s fueled by high-vibe energy?
Even if you’re not a team leader, the quality of your energy still impacts the rest of the team and everyone around you.
Do yourself and the people you work and live with a favor and take good care of yourself.
Take a time-out to refuel when you need to, or, if that’s not an option, just tread slowly for a week.
Focus on what feels good. Reconnect with your inner self. Be in the moment… there is no stress in the moment.
It pays off in so many ways.
